The YMCA of Central Kentucky's Black Achievers program received a generous donation of $46,000 from Commonwealth Credit Union on Tuesday, April 4. This donation will help sustain our efforts of providing scholarships and cash awards to deserving seniors who participate in the program.
Black Achievers, established in 1985, is a college and career readiness program serving youth in grades 6-12. The program, led by career mentors and volunteers, is open to all, with an intentional focus on supporting students of color. Graduating seniors participate in a rigorous portfolio process and receive scholarships/awards to help start their post-secondary journeys.
We celebrate Commonwealth Credit Union's investment in the future through their support of Black Achievers.
