We are excited to announce that the Frankfort YMCAs and Crayon Club have merged with the YMCA of Central Kentucky.
You may not know that the two associations have successfully collaborated for the past four years. As a single association we’ll be able to maximize our resources more effectively, ensuring that we continue to deliver great services to our communities, because thier needs continue to grow and change.
What happens next? Each branch will retain its own unique name and continue to serve its communities. However, the potential benefits include maximizing our resources to expand and strengthen programs and services, particularly in the areas of youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
In terms of leadership, Keith Gallagher remains the Frankfort YMCA’s District Executive Director and the David Martorano is the YMCA of Central Kentucky’s President and CEO. The Frankfort YMCA will continue to have a local advisory Board of Directors. Further, the Board of Directors of the YMCA of Central Kentucky has been restructured to include representation from Frankfort, helping to provide oversight for the entire Association.
The YMCA of Central Kentucky is committed to fiscally responsible operations and being good stewards of the funds entrusted to us. In terms of donations, while we believe that gifts with no restrictions are the most beneficial, we welcome donors to instruct us regarding how their donation should be used. Of course, donations can still be designated to any local Y.
