Toddlers are constantly on the move so providing them with opportunities for discovery, exploration, and experimentation is so important to not only satisfy their innate curiosities, but also to continue to enhance their learning. Our teachers know that play is how children learn. Therefore, experiences where toddlers can use their senses as well as learn of their own ability to make things happen are offered daily. With their increasing mobility and physical skills, toddlers have a need to move and want to do more things on their own. For that reason, our toddlers are provided with the chance for active play by going outside frequently and our toddler staff support their growing independence by teaching age-appropriate self-help skills. Additionally, our toddler teachers continue to support the children’s increasing efforts to communicate through sign language, conversations, books, and songs.
