Veronica Parker | YMCA of Central KY

Veronica Parker is a YMCA of Central Kentucky employee now, but her Y story begins when she belonged to the YMCA in Louisville. Like so many members, her time at the Y centered around her young children - in her case, her two girls. When they were little, they played YMCA t-ball and soccer, and always had a lot of fun in their Y swim lessons. Veronica also enjoyed working out and getting healthy while the girls played in the Kid's Club.

These days, Veronica continues her Y journey as a business analyst in the YMCA of Central KY Business Operations Center. In this role, she is able to help members and program participants with needs that arise in their membership or registrations. She enjoys her work at the Y, especially she says, "the happy faces, when a member reaches a weight loss goal, when a child learns to swim, or when a senior citizen is able to try something new." She's found that she was uniquely prepared for her customer-centric responsibilities because of years of caring for others through volunteer work, and that she appreciates being on a team with others who have "the same mission to make a difference in our communities."

The two little girls who played sports and took swim lessons are sixteen and twenty-one now, and when Veronica isn't working, you can find her with them and her husband.

The Business Operations Center team supports the entire YMCA of Central Kentucky association, and we're thankful for their important work of streamlining processes and supporting members and staff daily. We're thankful for the care Veronica shares to all people and for her commitment to doing her job well and with kindness. If you've worked with Veronica and want to give her a shout out, shoot us a note and we'll get it to her! Or, do you know a staff person who deserves a spotlight? Let us know that, too!
