20 Years of Dedication to the YMCA
Theresa's YMCA journey began 20 years ago when she took on the role of courtesy counter supervisor as the C.M. Gatton Beaumont YMCA first opened its doors to the community. Over the years, she has taken on more responsibility and various leadership roles, serving as the membership director at Beaumont and then later as the executive director of membership for the association.
She's played a crucial role in membership over the years, with a facility expansion at the North Lexington Family YMCA and then with the opening of the Whitaker Family YMCA. Almost five years ago, she transitioned to the YMCA of Central Kentucky's administrative office, where she currently serves as the director of business operations.
For Theresa, the Y is more than a workplace; it's a source of inspiration. She cherishes all the connections she's made along the way and appreciates witnessing individuals overcome obstacles with the support of the YMCA. The sense of community, resilience, and the ability to be a part of a positive change are what she values most.
When Theresa is not immersed in YMCA activities, she finds joy in spending time with her family. The beach is her happy place, providing a perfect setting for relaxation and rejuvenation.
Theresa Orlando's journey is a testament to the transformative power of the YMCA, both in individual lives and within the community. As we celebrate her 20 years of dedication, we also celebrate the values that make the YMCA a beacon of positivity and change.
